For drinks, ordered Wildberry passion & an old fashioned.
Wildberry Passion - Extremely sweet forward, then taste like cough syrup after. It was so terrible, I had to send it back.
Old fashioned sans PB & J - asked for no PB & J when we ordered. They mixed it with PB & J the first time, & when we sent it back, they mixed it with fireball. 🙄
Basil City Gimlet - much better flavor than the Wildberry Passion, but the gin was very bitter.
Drinks are very strong.
For appetizer, ordered Chips & Dips. Both were served in small containers & we found a hair in the salsa. Gross. 🤮 Queso flavor is boring. Salsa flavor is bland.
For entreé, ordered Scallops on the shell & Cajun Pasta. Scallops on the shell - super small; only 6 scallops and served with nothing besides salt - A LOT of salt (See picture). It was literally a layer of salt that looked like freshly fallen snow. Which, of course, made this dish INCREDIBLY salty. It didn’t help that the scallops were overcooked & did not appear to have any other seasoning except salt. Like it was cooked in nothing except oil and placed on a plate of salt. Quite disappointing.
Cajun pasta - sauce is quite thin and mild flavor, not thick and creamy like I would expect a Cajun cream sauce to be. Pasta, is at least, not overcooked nor undercooked, but fine texture. Chicken breast is dry. Shrimp was overcooked. Sausage was average. I don’t understand why the dish was served with bread because the sauce amount was not much and didn’t have much flavor.
The waitress could obviously sense our discontent and kept checking on us frequently.
Overall, I was was incredibly disappointed. The food was so bland and lack luster. I used to love this place and this was our go-to for brunch for the past two years. We actually went here for our third date, throughout our dating period, and brunch the day we got engaged. But since the shut-down and re-opening after COVID, it’s like all the good chefs left and they hired terrible chefs, then they made the drinks super strong to hide the terrible food.
I am definitely not coming back anymore and I’m so sad not to have this place in our rotation anymore because it has SO many memories. I am incredibly disappointed.
ROLL TIDE ROLL!
